Journal Introducation

  “Issues of Contemporary World Socialism” (ICWS) which started publication

in 1984 is a Chinese National Core Journal. It is the only journal that studies

and introduces main issues of

contemporary world socialism.

   Columns include “Theory and

Practice of Socialist

Construction in China”

(important issues in socialist

theory and practice, new reform policies and hot topics), “Socialism Abroad”

(new problems and trends, movements of socialist countries, wings and schools

of socialist thoughts, and changes of contemporary international Communist

Movements), “On Former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe” (experience and

lessons of socialist construction, main historical figures and events, reason of

Soviet Union’s collapse and new problems after it), “Contemporary World

Political Economy and Socialism” (great changes in world political economy and

international relations and effects on contemporary world socialism), “Scientific

Exploration and Debate” (encourage discussion on all kinds of problems about

theory an practice of socialism) and so on.

   It is a quarterly and in the charge of Ministry of Education, PRC. ICWS is
